With bragging rights as California’s largest natural freshwater lake, Lake Elsinore is adventure central for lakeside fun in the Menifee area. Tent campers and RV enthusiasts alike will find terrific camping areas, dozens of hiking and biking trails, watersports, fishing, and other fun activities at this 3,000-acre lake. The City of Lake Elsinore recently redeveloped an older campground into a state-of-the-art resort called Launch Pointe Recreation Destination & RV Park, complete with full hookups and a swimming pool.

Popular activities for a day on the lake include boating, fishing, kayaking and hanging out on the beach. Lake Elsinore is perfect for a day of exploration ending at one of Menifee’s popular dining experiences.

Diamond Valley Lake

Diamond Valley Lake, located in Hemet is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Southern California with a capacity of 800,000 acre-feet, 260 ft deep and over 4,500 surface acres.

At the lake you will discover some of the best fishing in the state. World-renowned for its black bass fishing, we are home to bluegill and sunfish, rainbow trout, and both blue and channel catfish. “The Diamond” attracts boaters from all over the world ready and willing to test their skills against monster-sized fish in these waters.

Hidden among rock-studded hills, Lake Perris State Recreation Area’s 8,800 acres of broad valley are bounded on three sides by low ridges. The Bernasconi Hills and the Russell, Apuma, and Armada Mountains obscure the view of nearby cities. Inland, the San Bernardino, San Jacinto, and Santa Rosa Mountains, snow-capped in winter months, stand tall in the distance. The area boasts a rich variety of terrains, habitats, and wildlife.

Activities in this popular park include fishing, water sports, bird watching, hiking, rock climbing, camping, horseback riding, and visiting the Ya’i Heki’ Regional Indian Museum.
